Welcome to the Bed and Breakfast La Collina Fiorita - Cagliari
alba.jpg ele.jpg nur.jpg

Welcome to La Collina Fiorita Bed and Breakfast! Roberto greets you, hoping you'll find in these pages useful informations to plan your holidays in Cagliari, seat of local governement of Sardinia. Mine is a city rich in history, monuments, churches, exhibitions and cultural events. I hope to be able to convey the emotions which animate social life here. I hope you'll appreciate the history of Cagliari’s districts and places, together with his wonderfull sea. Then, I'll try to describe the habits of the people, the way how and the favourite places where young people have fun here. If you come to visit Sardinia, I will be very happy to have you in my structure as guests and trying to help you to discover Cagliari as a friend.
First of all, I would like to talk to you about my home. La Collina Fiorita Bed and Breakfast is located in Barracca Manna Street, n. 30 and It is a villa with a big garden. The rooms are simple but each one have an exclusive bathroom and air conditioning. The TV room is at the first floor and the ADSL connection is avalilable. My Bed and Breakfast rise on a small hill which probably gave the name to the district just a few years ago. The district originally was called Barracca Manna, a name which is still high among the people. From the windows of my house you can watch, as if you’re looking into a paint, at the mountains of Seven Brothers which are a complex of rare beauty and where you can go hiking, in particular you shouldn’t miss the WWF Nature Reserve, near Monte Arcosu.

m_01.jpgAbove, starting on the right you can see La Sella del Diavolo, an imposing hill loved from every citizen of Cagliari, which dominates the Poetto beach and where it is said a base for NATO submarines and a fuel deposit are holding inside.Far for this kind of news, related to the famous British secret agent James Bond , about what I don’t have a deal, the city offers many opportunities for fun throughout the year both for young people and for those who are not young anymore, but who want to unwind in a peaceful and comfortable environment and who maybe want to reach the Poetto beach in ten minutes by car. Fortunately for us, the weather of Sardinia and especially of Cagliari is not hard to bear (very pleasant, and often), but often, even up to November and December, offers spring-like warm.

m_04.jpgInfact, while in other parts of Italy it rains or it snows, in Cagliari there is often good weather and people goes to sea for the lunch break to have a fast meal. At night, people live the city outdoors or in pubs, discos, which you can find in considerable numbers. In the month of July and August, when schools are closed, young people come to the Poetto beach. During the day you can enjoy the sea and the sun, lying on the sand, while at night you can go to the old quarter, called Castle or "Casteddu" in Sardinian language. If you prefer you can go to the sea in one of the many bars which rise on the beach where you can hear good music.

m_05.jpg The opportunities to enjoy the city therefore are not lacking. However, a lot of people prefer to leave away from Cagliari, moving to the tourist areas of Villasimius and Costa Rei or near the pretty village of Pula. I like living in Cagliari in winter time and in the summer and I will recommend to spend your holidays here. Staying in bed and breakfast La Collina Fiorita could be a way to enjoy our island from the inside. Nothing prohibits then to use/take Cagliari and La Collina Fiorita Bed and Breakfast as a point of reference from which start/make some trips throughout the Province. If your intention is to come to Cagliari don't hesitate to contact me. See you soon!
